Mr. Purnendu Dutt

Mr. Purnendu Dutt a Senior Power Plant Professional and an alumnus of Jadavpur University, Kolkata, brings with him a vast and rich experience of 47+ Years in design, engineering, developing, commissioning, standardizing and techno-commercial marketing of Power Plants in various parts of the country.He started his career with India’s premier power equipment manufacturer “BHEL” and was associated for 16 years in various engineering departments. He also held many prestigious and important positions in many reputed companies of the country, as Director of JV – Hira Group, Raipur & Scaleban Equipments Pvt. Ltd, Indore, Executive Director –Desein-Indure Group of Companies, New Delhi, Vice President (Power) – Monnet Ispat & Energy Ltd., New Delhi, General Manager (Cogeneration Project) – The Somaiya Group, Mumbai, Chief Manager (Engineering) – DLF Industries Ltd., Faridabad, etc.

His professional growth path says a lot about his hard work, thorough knowledge and leadership qualities. He has worked on standardization of 210 MW Thermal Power Plants, developed feasibility reports, DPRs of plants up-to 800 MW Thermal units, developed a full engineering department from scratch, was Profit Centre Head of Bagasse Based Power Plants, Project Head of Captive Power Plants of Steel Industries, has in-depth knowledge of power plants from concept to commissioning & trouble shooting for Thermal, Liquid / Gas, Biomass based power plants, project management and execution of Power Plants. At present working on water conservation in Thermal Power Plants through associates.

His publication on “Non-chemical Technology for High COC Operation with Scale Inhibition for achieving Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) in Thermal Power Plants – NTPC, NETRA” is another feather in his cap.

Mr Mukat Vashishta

Mr Mukat Vashishta is an Electrical Engineer from prestigious Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology having professional experience of 45 years in the Power Sector (GTD). Retired as Director/Operations (Whole Time Director) of Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (DHBVN, A Southern Electricity Distribution Company of Haryana Government). Worked in various capacities as well as different areas of the power sector in DHBVN, erstwhile HSEB (Haryana State Electricity Board) & was re-employed as Advisor/Operations and Franchisee in DHBVN in the rank and status of Whole Time Director for 2 years. Also served as Advisor (Engg.) to O/o the Electricity Ombudsman (Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission). He was the Technical head of the Haryana Govt. team, which went to Brazil to study Brazil Power Sector Reforms. He commands great respect in the power sector fraternity for his impeccable contributions & initiatives made in the area of power distribution. He is a very kind hearted & spiritually inclined person who is always ready to work for the betterment of the people / society. He is a thorough / accomplished professional with so many awards & recognitions under his belt. Some of his achievements / contributions are highlighted below: –

  • Led the team for preparation of Result Frame Work document of Power Department for the FY 12-13 that facilitates Haryana State to be recognized / adjudged as Best Compendium of RFD’s by Centre.
  • Worked in close association with the Planning Commission, Ministry of Power and World Bank for implementation of Power Sector Reforms in Haryana
  • Propagated the concept of Demand Side Management among electricity consumers and Haryana Discoms
  • Played an instrumental role for establishment of NABL accredited testing labs in the Haryana Discoms.
  • Propagated / Introduced the concept of Distribution Franchisee/Public Private Partnership projects in Haryana Power Distribution sector.
  • Worked in close co-ordination with Forum of Regulators in framing the Model Contract Document for Distribution Franchisees
  • Worked in close co-ordination with HERC (Haryana Electricity Regulatory Commission) for implementation of two-part tariff structure for electricity consumers in Haryana w.e.f FY 2010-11
  • Worked on various IT initiatives for which DHBVN was awarded 2nd India Power Awards for innovative IT applications in Utility Management.

Mr Anjan Kumar Sinha

Mr Anjan Kumar Sinha is a Mechanical Engineering Graduate from NIT (erstwhile REC) Durgapur ; Post Graduate in Energy Management from AIP (Chennai); FIE & Chartered Engineer,IEI (Kolkata) as well as an  BEE Accredited Energy Auditor (AEA) with more than 40 years of experience in Techno Managerial consulting, training and program implementation in energy efficiency ,energy conservation, energy management duly covering all Energy  Intensive Industry sectors that includes (but not limited to) Thermal Power Generation & Distribution ,Commercial Buildings & Establishment ,SMEs etc . Fully familiar with Electrical utility concerns and prospects on energy efficiency, loss reduction, and demand side management, based on his  earlier association with the implementation of APDP , APDRP , and R-APDRP projects , DRUM Training Programmes in power sector in INDIA initiated by MoP , GoI/ PFC for Indian power utilities. He is Retired from the services of National Productivity Council ,an Institution Under Ministry of Commerce & Industry , Dept. of Industrial Policy & Promotion , GoI in JANUARY , 2017 as Director Gr I  Officer. He is also having immense international exposure asEnergy Management Expertin countries namely Bangladesh, Egypt, Dubai, Pakistan, Iran, Nepal, U.K, R.O.C Taiwan ,Germany , Austria, Philippines. Presented and published several technical papers /case studies /success stories in National/Regional Forums/Conferences/Journals in the area of Energy Efficiency. He has also co-authored the National Guide book for National Certification Examination for Energy Managers and Energy Auditors “Book 2- Energy Efficiency In Thermal Utilities”, published by Bureau of Energy Efficiency , Ministry of Power, GoI
